“You can turn your life around” - The real-life transformation story of a drug kingpin turned fitness entrepreneur
The interesting story of Coss Marte
Hello my friend,
Welcome to another edition of Simpler Sundays by VyasSpeaks.
This was a great week. I had a few off days from work because of the G20 summit. To be honest, I feel a sense of pride seeing India host such a massive summit and showcase its global leadership.
This week was also special because it saw the release of SRK’s Jawan.
Those who are close to me know that I’ve been a big SRK fan ever since I was a little kid and so I eagerly await all his movies. While I am a man of logic (or at least I like to think so), there is no logic when it comes to my love for SRK. I simply enjoy watching him on screen. I don’t know why but I feel happy when I see him on screen, even if he’s part of a shitty movie.
That said, Jawan is one of his better ones. Despite a few flaws, it’s arguably the most massy movie of SRK’s career. The role of Vikram Rathore is especially the one people will remember for years. I was drooling every time Vikram’s character made an appearance.
How about you? Did you watch Jawan yet? If yes, did you like it?
Now, coming to this week’s featured post. Today I share the inspiring real-life story of an ex-convict who turned his life around and is now a fitness entrepreneur.
I hope you enjoy this.
Happy reading!

Movie/Series recommendation of the week
I know I’ve already talked a lot about Jawan but it’s not this week’s recommendation.
For this week, I want to recommend a movie that is one of the best I’ve ever seen and is easily among my top 5 favorite movies of all time.
This week’s recommendation is the 2006 movie “V for Vendetta”.
Now, technically, this is a superhero movie made by DC, based on DC Vertigo comics from 1988. However, this isn’t like any superhero movie out there and instead feels more like a piece of art.
Every second dialogue in the movie is quote-worthy, the screenplay is terrific, and the story progresses well. The philosophical themes around individuality, freedom of speech, and censorship feel too relevant for the present time. The performances by all actors especially by Natalie Portman are Oscar-worthy.
I watched this movie a few years back when in college. But at that time, I didn’t appreciate it as much. Yesterday, when I watched it again, I realized the brilliance of this masterpiece.
I can’t even think of a single flaw in this movie. For me, it’s a perfect 10/10.
So, if you are looking for a good movie to watch this weekend, V for Vendetta could be a great choice. Here’s a good review of the movie if you’re interested - https://gizmodo.com/v-for-vendetta-might-be-even-better-15-years-later-1846457276
