Hello my friend,
Welcome to another edition of Simpler Sundays by VyasSpeaks.
Last week, I read a post on Twitter that gave me a powerful reminder - When we are trying to build new habits, the most important thing is to show up regularly.
Want to go to the gym daily? - Make sure you dress up for the gym and get out of the house, even on days you feel like not exercising.
Want to write daily? - Make sure to sit in front of your laptop and write a few words, even if you don’t feel like writing.
Want to read books daily? - Make sure to open the book and read a few words, even if you don’t have time to read.
What it does is that it hammers the idea that you are a person who shows up no matter what. The actual task doesn’t matter initially as much as the act of showing up.
That was the case with me today. I had no motivation to write this week’s newsletter. But reminding myself of this lesson, I chose to show up and share something even if it’s not up to the quality that I expect from myself.
Sending this newsletter each week is the most important thing.
So, instead of a well-researched micro-essay or a short story, this week I am only sharing a simple reminder about friendship.
But that said, this week I’ve tried a new format. Let me know what you think of it.
As I always say - Happy reading!
